In the near future, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will travel to New York , where he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky announced this this evening on the Twiiter (X) microblog. He did not disclose the details of the meeting and the topics that will be discussed at it.
“The meeting between Benjamin Netanyahu and Vladimir Zelensky will take place in New York in the coming days during the United Nations General Assembly,” he wrote.
Preparations for the president’s visit to the United States of America became known in early September. It was reported that he would attend the annual meeting of world leaders at the UN and take part in the Security Council meeting on Ukraine.
Relations between Israel and Ukraine
The Israeli authorities condemned the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, supporting the territorial integrity of the country. At the same time, they refuse to provide military assistance to the Ukrainian army.
Last fall , Vladimir Zelensky said he was shocked by the lack of help from Israel . “Israel gave us nothing, nothing, zero,” he emphasized.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained this by saying that the systems they would transfer to Ukraine could be used against them by Iran in the future if they fell into its hands.
Earlier, the Israeli Ministry of Defense promised to help Ukraine develop an early warning system for a missile attack .
